PostSubject: my 32 project   Fri Jun 14, 2013 3:19 pm

this is how it all begins....rough  rough  rough   now for a little magic and a lot of luck and I may have something.....yes that is the motor that was in my funny car....I am going to do another but I like the fact that it fits in there with no modifications.... for sure there is some new headers for this puppy. This was a frame I bought andf it is a great start to this project...  modified it a little and much more will be added to it but never the less a great start.....I am thinking of going with the factory five wish bone suspension up front..../not sure let.... I do have a drop front axle if that ideal becomes either frustrating or just wont work mechanically..

I cut a groove on the back of the car on each side where the rails meet so the body would slide over the rails.....I did this to hide the rails....this is the look I want....  Sounds good....

This is the stance :-) I am going to fiberglass all three pieces togather, gather lines and make them crisp and it will fit on the frame as one...  Maybe a little one off hood scoop that will compliment the lines of the body...:-)

Yep.  Already in the works....  About 1/2 inch... Yep, that's funky original project.  I'm refining the new motor to be a tad bit smaller.....not to much and some new headers.... It is a great starter project that will compliment my 55 chevy

Very nice Dom looks the part as is, the Renwal wheels and tires look great! either runner or static you have a very special and unique car. That car kicked the snot and energy out of me,very jealous but happy you will do it justice.

Thanx Funky.... Kicking the snot out of me....going low budget with the raco rear... I've gotten the spacing and engineering part done now to fabricate the parts... Gonna stick my motor in there with a new set of headers... I'm trying to make it a runner as well....  Very nice start to this project with your frame rails.  Those pressed rails are awesome!!!!!!!

Hey funky.  I got an ideal for your iron body.

That abs plastic is a nightmare to work with... I know... It glues together great but the finishing body work is the problem.  If you were to make a mold of those individual pieces you would have a more manageable project and would go together so much better with the ease of finishing the body work.  Just a thought..  And you could reproduce the pieces and sell them as a kit. ... Man I love that body...

Sorry to go off topic, Dom the Iroc body is all done and came out better then excpected. Just have to wet sand and paint no real labor involved now. I had a few people that contacted me interested in making molds but in all reality and for whatever it's worth this is the only WCM Iroc body in existence, I have yet to see another so keeping it from being mass produced even on a small scale makes sense as far as collecting goes, just my opinion. This 32 would look great in the raw, brown primer with the wheels you have on there. Just my opinion.

Hello guys,  the Renwal wheels funky is talking about are the red ones in the pictures.  They are plastic and are very scale looking and to size as well.  I plan on visiting a local machine shop to see if they can't make me a set.   I love the look they give these old cars.

Tig wire....aluminum tig wire ....or stainless...:-). Or brass....which ever I pick.... Make the frame inside ...drill the wholes....insert the wire. Place frame inside the grill...
