That body is sharp, I am thinking of building a 34 coupe like the Mooningham and Sharpe fuel coupe of the mid 60's. My questiopn is what material are you using to make the buck??

I use Foam..... Its pretty cheap.... I buy the 4 by 8 sheets that are used to skin the outside of your home foundations. Cut them accordingly to the size of the model. Glue them togather with elmers wood glue and let them dry for a couple of days.....Ruff them up with sand paper first George. Here are some pics to give you an ideal where you want to be. Any questions feel free to ask

George

Also Dan . you can go to a free website called The-blueprints.com and they have hundreds of car prints which you will need to draw on your foam....Side view and top view forsure.....I use a sharpe marker because it goes deep in the foam.......

As you carve and sand ( 60 to 80 grit sand paper is best) keep redrawing your lines as they dissapear so you know where your at..

Make templates of one side to transfer to the other as you go...

And the first thing you should do once you have you block of foam is establish what your wheel base is and what size tire and rim your using and bring that line up as well

There is a guy that built an Awesome Austin Martin with step by step procedures as well on QLS but his modeling techniques are much more advanced then the block of foam.....It may help you

Also I believe there is a guy in Europe that show how he cut and molded a 34 as well with foam and how he keep retracing his drawing template on the foam

Ill tell you a trick.....If you use bondo on this foam it will Melt....I did it but you have to skim it on very thin but the plug is so strong after completion

The other is soo simple and cheap .oh my god...You can litterally make a quality plug for under a 150.00.....Buy a bag of the best powdered wall plaster mix..20.00 bucks....Mix what you want and how thick or thin you need it...just like mudding you walls....The foam will not warp at all with weather changes......and the plaster mixes with water .youll get the hang of it..

20 LB BAG WILL LAST A LIFE TIME....Easy to mix and its non toxic, drys quick and excepts all paint great.... Easy to sand and detail......I did the mustang in bondo and the challenger in wall plaster....

Can't wait to see it, I'm a Mopar fan. I need a favor, could you give the wheelbase and track measurements for a Raco Jackrabbit? I would like to build something to just to take out and run.
