Top Fuel Fact of the day

The exhaust on a top fuel dragster/funnycay exhaust are 2.75 inches in diameter and on the dragster 18 inches long. affraid

In quarterscale world that is an 11/16 diameter and 4.5 inches long affraid

Im thinking maybe 1/2 inch is as big as Im going scratch

This is gonna be fun Very Happy

Manifold is done....I decided to do 2 separate tubes down, one to each side to distibute the presure equally

Motor mounts in and welded up

I had to do a little thinking to get all that stuffed under the motor, inside the frame and mate up with the motor Rolling Eyes

Now when I fit My motor on a motor all togather the exhaust tube are right where I want them Very Happy

Exhaust tubes I think Ill bend in the shop tonite

Heres the deal on that...........I take a wooden doll rod and a piece of sand paper with the sticky stuff on it and use it to clean out the inside of the tube.....I use a drill motor....Then clean the other tube up and polish it with 1000 grit sand paper.....it will except it then

Rog.....You have to work it pretty good............Dont be affaid of getting a little ruff with it.....You have to clean and polish the inside pretty good removing some of the inner tube.....use judgement

Designing is hell but it sure is fun!!! I love building 1/4 scale cars, everything is from scratch, no kits. I'm looking to get a rear this summer for a dragster build. I have a good 96cc and a 125 cc McColloch that would be great. Both engines were built a local kart racer and are fully ported

Dom, the 30 Bantum buck came out good, Since I'm only diong a one off I'm going to glass over the buck and sand and finish the body vs. make a female mold and pull a body from it. As soon as I can get my grand daughter to show me how to get pictures form the little blue thingie to the site I put some photos

The only plan you need is what you desire and ambition, from the sound of it you seem to have fabricating skills and that is a plus, everything else from rears to engines etc etc is purchased on ebay or what members have to offer time to time. What works for me is, I gather tons of photos from the internet, 1/4 scale, 1 to 1 whatever scale of the car I want to build and go from there, I highly recommend to jig it up and not on the fly. If you can weld the sky is the limit.

You can get a good quality 1/24 scale die cast model and with a digital caliper and a calculator you can scale it to 1/4 scale. Just take your measurement from the caliper and multiply it by 6. Focus more on proportions that exact scale measurement. DDM has motors, John Foster sold rears in past and BRP sells wheels and tires. The real fun of this hobby is getting creative.
